It was my third day at Hendersonville Highschool. I was armed with a new camera and a world of pictures to take. But I didn't want to be just another amateur sitting in the stands wishing he were pro; nay not me. So I went up to the principal and asked for special permission to stand upon the sidelines and take pictures that were better than the average soccer mom. On friday morning came the pep ralley for the game later that day. I was on the sidlines with my trusty 18-75mm lens; the one that came with my camera. Picture after picture I took, but one by one I realized that none of them were coming out. I simply couldn't zoom in enough nor capture enough light. After the pep ralley was done, I realized something must be done before tonights game, and fast too. I had only $300 left in my camera fund, and I wished to save some for a printer and paper. I rushed to my local pawn shop and found to my delight a 2x extender ring. It would suit my magnification needs without breaking the bank, right? Oh, how wrong I was. That cur of a man wanted $150 for a 15 year old ring. I told him where he could put that ring, and left. My next location was the Wolf Camera, where I knew what awaited me. I would end up spending every penny I had, but a gorgeous new lens awaited me. I told the man "Good sir, fetch me that lens right there" And he looked at me with confusion; could this mere child have a use for such a lens? And as he handed it to me I felt its power: the ability to zoom in on people far, far away. I rush home after handing over the copius amount of money and frantically tried the lens out. It worked divinely, but I had no time to waste, I was off to the football game!
